Larimore Associates, Inc., the leader in custom-designed public safety software,
has announced the availability of its new Enhanced NFIRS 5.0
program.
Chesterfield, Mo., Nov. 15, 2005
- The Enhanced NFIRS 5.0 program, which can
be used as a stand-alone application or integrated with other Larimore systems,
allows fire departments to quickly and easily record exposures and produce a
variety of reports.
Larimore has developed NFIRS
systems for more than a decade, and its Enhanced NFIRS 5.0 system reflects the
company's expertise. This software provides the user with broad searching,
investigative and reporting features, far beyond FEMA / USFA - NFIRS 5.0
requirements. The system was also designed with the flexibility needed to allow
for individual state-based changes.
When used in combination
with the Larimore CAD system,
Enhanced NFIRS 5.0 eliminates duplication of entry, as data elements are moved
seamlessly from CAD to NFIRS. The Larimore NFIRS module integrates with many of
our other systems as well. One example is its integration with the
Larimore Scheduling
system, which allows users to easily load the names of every employee in a unit
that responded to a call, simply by entering the unit ID. When a unit ID is
entered, the NFIRS system checks the Scheduling system to see which employees
were scheduled to be at that event, and auto-fills this information. This level
of integration improves report accuracy and sharply reduces the amount of time
needed to produce a NFIRS 5.0 report. The software can also interface with many
other vendor's CAD systems.
The Enhanced NFIRS 5.0
system also includes visual enhancements that help users self-audit reports as
they are being entered. Required data fields that are left blank change color
to notify the user that important information has been missed. As a second
layer of error-checking, an auditing function has been added to the system as
well. As a result, users can quickly find and correct errors prior to
submission.
Submitting reports generated
with Larimore's Enhanced NFIRS 5.0 is simple as well. With a single command,
the program generates an ASCII flat file which can then be sent to the
appropriate agency.
The Enhanced NFIRS 5.0
system features an optional imaging component, allowing agencies to attach photo
and document images related to each exposure. These images, once attached, are
incorporated into the Larimore database for greater security, and cannot be
viewed or changed outside the Larimore system.
